For hundreds of years we’ve told the story of Robin Hood, the brave man who robs the rich Prince John to feed the poor. But what if there’s more to the story, a piece of the tale that its tellers have tried to keep secret through the centuries? This retelling of the classic story explores Robin Hood’s origin with a surprising twist: the beautiful and kind Maid Marian, Robin Hood’s famed lady love, is not his lover at all, but is instead Robin Hood him - or rather, her - self!

Maid Marian is days away from marrying the greedy Prince John to unite the lands of Sherwood and Nottingham under his rule when she discovers his plans to impose heavy taxes upon their people. Appalled by the cruelty of her husband-to-be, Marian and her handmaid Agnes disguise themselves as bandits to defend the people of Sherwood, robbing Prince John of his excessive wealth to feed the poor. Her cunning, charity, and skill at archery gain notoriety, and soon all of Sherwood talks of the mysterious masked man known only as Robin Hood. How long can Marian keep her identity secret from Prince John, and protect her people from his greed?
