Kiera Martin, Instructor
A Midwesterner through and through, Ms. Kiera grew up just about two hours southeast in Bloomington, Illinois and made her theatrical debut as a Narrator in a 5th grade production of Willy Wonka. Her parents practically raised her on movie musicals, but that first show experience certainly confirmed for Kiera what she already knew… she was passionate about theatre! She then went on to turn that passion into her profession by earning a BFA in Musical Theatre at Western Illinois University.
She couldn’t be more grateful for how her training shaped her into the artist and leader she is today. Some of her favorite roles during this time earned her two Irene Ryan Nominations and sent her to compete at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival twice. It was also during her college years that Kiera discovered a love of teaching young artists, and she either spent her summers music directing for NPR’s Children’s Theatre Experience Camp or on the road as a touring actor/director for Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre. Since graduation in 2019, Kiera has performed professionally at theme parks and regional houses throughout the Midwest. It was actually a gig at Circa '21 that led her to DJT! Nothing is more rewarding for her than watching our students light up the stage on Showcase weekends, and she extends her sincerest thanks to the rest of the DJT team and to you for fostering your kiddo’s love of the craft.
