Arthur & Merlin
Original play by local playwright Aaron Randolph III
Performances: Saturday, April 29 & May 6 @ 1:00pm & 4:00pm / Sunday, April 30 & May 7 @ 2:00pm

Aaron Randolph III (writer of DJT’s Rumpelstiltskin in 2015 and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea in 2014) returns to DJT with an all original production! The newly crowned King Arthur has just pulled the famed sword from the stone, but the varying factions in his kingdom are at war. As his people turn against one another, egged on by the evil trickster Morgana and her henchman Toady, Arthur struggles desperately to restore order and prosperity. His most trusted adviser, Merlin, offers to take the young king on a journey through time and space to meet other great leaders facing similar challenges, including Cleopatra, Abraham Lincoln and Queen Elizabeth II. Can Merlin teach Arthur how to bring peace to his kingdom before the trickster Morgana turns everyone against each other, leaving the lands in ruin?

EARLIER THIS SEASON

Pegora the Witch (Musical)
by Carol Lynn Wright
Produced by special arrangement with the Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois.

Performances: Saturday, October 22 & 29 @ 1:00pm & 4:00pm / Sunday, October 23 & 30 @ 2:00pm

Pegora kicks off the season as our 300th Mainstage production! This show is our DJT Classic for the season! It has been performed many times over the past 6 decades, but the last time we performed this show was 17 years ago. Pegora is a young apprentice witch with a key flaw in her nature – she cannot help but do good things. Oh! And she secretly loves to cook. However, the head witch, Mother Martacloy, gives her one last chance to try to do bad. This mission? Kidnap all seven of the kings children, one day at a time. Come see if Pegora can be a witch after all.  Or maybe… she’s just too good.

Ramona Quimby
Dramatized by Len Jenkin
Based on the Book by Beverly Cleary
Produced by special arrangement with the Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois.

Performances: Saturday, February 18 & 25 @ 1:00pm & 4:00pm / Sunday, February 19 & 26 @ 2:00pm

Unpredictable. Exasperating. Boisterous and independent. That's Ramona Quimby for you! Always aggravating her older sister, Beezus, constantly getting into trouble and sometimes "making a big, noisy fuss" when things don't go her way. As narrator, Beezus (Beatrice Quimby) introduces the Quimby family and friends and thereby sets the scene for the collection of vignettes that trace Ramona's tumultuous passage through third grade and through her family relationships. The teacher's wrath, an important family wedding, persistent sibling bickering and Mr. Quimby's attempts to give up smoking are part of the fabric that shape a humorous, loving family portrait. The problems facing the Quimbys, a middle-class Oregon family, are problems common to most families, and the family's togetherness in tackling the sacrifices and adjustments required when the father is unexpectedly fired from his job. Along with the discovery that life is not always fair, eventually Ramona and Beezus come to realize that sisters may not always agree, but they can be good to have around.
