Meredith Dennis Jennifer Hampton
Dance Studio Coordinator & Instructor

Jenny grew up in Davenport and went on to the University of Northern Iowa where she graduated with a BA in Theatre Performance. During her time at UNI she worked on shows as an actress, backstage help, and choreographer. She also worked in the costume shop of the theatre department. Jenny was a member of the Orchesis Dance Company on campus and was the secretary of the company during her junior year of school.

Jenny has been dancing since she was 8 years old. She is trained in tap, ballet, jazz, pointe, and modern dance. SAfter graduating college, Jenny moved back to Davenport. She promptly started teaching at DJT and eventually became the Dance Coordinator, overseeing all dance programs. She enjoys sharing her love for dance with the next generation of dancers!

 

 

Ashley Coffin
Instructor

Born in Overland Park, Kansas, began her training at Miller Marley School of Dance and Voice where she trained in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, leaps & turns, and broadway.

Ashley recently graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a BFA in Ballet Pedagogy and a Minor in General Business. There she was a member of the Oklahoma Festival Ballet and Contemporary Dance Oklahoma company. Ashley also had the opportunity to perform as a guest artist in Human After All with Hartel Dance Group, a modern company based in Oklahoma City.

Ashley continues to explore her interests as a teacher and choreographer. She choreographed Cortex (’16) and We Move Lightly (’17) that were selected as a part of the University Theater’s Young Choreographers’ Showcase, as well as Nova Matí (’16), Rods and Cones (’16), and Five Frames (’17) which was selected to perform at the Festival of the Arts in Oklahoma City presented by the Arts Council of Oklahoma City.

Ashley is excited for share her love and passion for dance at Davenport Junior Theatre! 

Meg Kremer
Instructor

Meg grew up in Mt. Sterling, IL where she was trained in dance and gymnastics at her hometown studio, and was a cheerleader for her junior high and high school.

She attended Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL on a dance scholarship from which she received her Bachelors degree in Exercise Science and a minor in dance. While there she performed with the University Dance Theatre for 9 semesters and choreographed multiple main stage productions.

Meg became Co Chair and director of youth dance clinic for UDT. Meg considers one of her most significant accomplishments of her dance career to be in a piece that she choreographed that's was chosen to perform at the American Collegiate Dance Association. 


Meg has been trained in and studied many different styles of dance. Dance is Meg's greatest passion and she is thrilled to pass that passion onto the young dancers of Davenport Junior Theatre.

 

 

Alyssa Martinez
Instructor

Alyssa is currently attends St. Ambrose University. She has been dancing since she was seven years old and has loved every year. She danced on a competitive team for 8 years and danced on her school dance team for 3 years.

Alyssa has been trained in many styles such as, tap, hip hop, pom, jazz and ballet. She has taught kids through the ages of 5-18 and is excited to start teaching her very own class. Alyssa is always extremely excited to watch the children at DJT grow into fine dancers and fine people.

 

 


Ashlea Meyer
Instructor

Ashlea has been involved in DJT her whole life, along with her mother and two siblings. In addition to teaching tumbling classes, she is involved in Mainstage productions and teaches makeup at summer performing arts camps. Ashlea frequently costumes shows at the QC Theatre Workshop, including Bat Boy, A Steady Rain, and The Pillowman.

As a tumbler, Ashlea won first in the Junior Olympics in Nashville, TN at 16. She also won a state title in Missouri. She was involved in cheerleading in high school, and holds her AA in Fine Arts from Scott Community College. Ashlea enjoys guiding her tumbling students, and watching them pick up new skills and achieve their goals!

 

 

 

Bailey Schmidt
Instructor

Bailey began her ballet training at age two and hasn't stopped dancing since. She is trained in almost every form but mainly in ballet, pointe, modern, and jazz. Bailey has trained many places including Illinois Ballet Theatre, Milwaukee Ballet, and the University of Iowa. She is excited to be teaching kids at Davenport Junior Theatre!

 

 

 



Mary Therese ThomasMary Therese Thomas
Instructor

Mary Therese began dancing at the age of 3 at Crosby School of Dance in Aiken, South Carolina. At the age of 11, after taking tap and ballet, she was admitted into the Aiken Civic Ballet Company. From then on, until her senior year of high school, she participated in many productions put on seasonally by the company including playing the Woodland Fairy in Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty, the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland, and the Evil Queen in Snow White, along with many roles in the yearly production of The Nutcracker, including but not limited to the Peppermint Princess and Sugarplum Fairy.

Mary Therese was voted as the Ballet Mistress her junior year of high school, and temporally hung up her point shoes when she moved to Rock Island to attend Augustana College, where she is currently a senior majoring in Neuroscience and Biology with a Religion minor. She is so excited to be a part of the DJT Dance Team, in her ballet shoes again, and ready to show everyone how extraordinary a role dance can play in your life!

Lizzy Warkocki
Instructor

Lizzy grew up in the Chicago suburbs and started dancing in junior high. She has been trained in styles including ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical, modern, and pom. She is currently a senior at Augustana College pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in French and English as well as a minor in Communications.

In addition to classes, she is a member of the Vikettes Poms team as well as the Augustana Dance Company. This year, she has the privilege of serving as their president and choreographing numbers for the whole company.

Dance has given Lizzy so much more than just technical skills over the years; it has been a source of self-confidence and an outlet for expression unlike anything else. Lizzy and pass on her enthusiasm to her students!


Alicia Win Alicia Win
Instructor

Alicia Win has been teaching at Davenport Junior Theatre School of Dance since the summer of 2014. She is a recent graduate of Augustana College, where she graduated with a Bachelors in Communication Studies and Environmental Studies. During her time there she was on Vikettes (poms) team and the Augustana College Dance Company. She was honored to serve as the President of the company her senior year. She is currently working with the Girlscouts and would love to answer any questions about the programs and resources currently available. Dance has given her discipline, technical skills, an expressive outlet, incredible memories and long-lasting friendships. She hopes to create a similar atmosphere that fosters her students' confidence, technical abilities, and aspirations.
